There is spamming (auto) blog commenting software that would destroy your reputation and make you a nuisance to other web users if you made use of it, and then there is the simpler blog commenting software that merely speeds up the process you’d be using in any case.

You should never use the former: such auto blog commenting software just spams blogs with useless drivel that does nothing for your site or just creates a nightmare for other bloggers who have to clean up their sites. Or such spam comments would simply get deleted by WordPress plugins such as WP-SpamFree (I use it here at TrafficFolder.com, and very useful it is too, having deleted many thousands of spam comments to date).

But, if you are going to post meaningful, helpful, insightful comments on other blogs, comments that add something to the other blog and help the users there, then you can speed up the process a little by using what you might call ‘good blog commenting software’. You can even use such software simply as a fast blog finder to save you time.

In this context of ‘good blog commenting software’, I’ve heard good things about Comment Kahuna from people who know, so I decided to give it a try as a means to get me more quickly to the relevant blogs and to save a small amount of time filling in my email, name and URL. The reading of the blog concerned and of other users comments, then deciding whether to contribute and how I best can are not things that can be automated, of course, nor should they be — apart from other considerations, it’s good to get involved.

So, I downloaded this blog commenting software, Comment Kahuna (for free, by the way) and installed it on my computer. Read the brief and to-the-point pdf user instructions (you need to in this case) then set it in motion. All went well until I got to the point when I had to click the ‘post comments’ button. Then… What? There was no button to click. I tried expanding the resolution of my monitor to its maximum in case the button was hiding somewhere, I sized the software window to its ultimate, but still not a glimpse of the pesky button hiding anywhere.

Sooo, I’ve emailed ‘support’. Now this blog commenting software is free, so there can’t be much funding available for support (unless I’m missing something), so it will be interesting to see what happens, if anything… I’ll keep you informed.
