Forum Posting to Increase Website Traffic

Forum posting as a possible website traffic method.

Forum posting is a method used by some to increase their website traffic through catching the eye of forum members and visitors, and through backlinks to their website.

However, and it’s a big ‘however’, it is something that is easily abused. To begin with, it would be a waste of somebody’s time and effort to simply go around different forums making posts and including their backlink. It would also be a waste of the forum owner’s time having then to delete these posts. the same can be said of similar posts to blogs (I spend time each day deleting spam posts to this blog).

If you are interested enough in a subject area or niche to spend time writing about or blogging about it, then surely you would be interested enough to take a real part in a forum about the said subject niche, which means becoming a member and contributing by forum posting on a regular basis. Once you become a respected member with a number of posts under your belt (and hopefully posts that are of use to other forum members), then and only then will your forum posting become a potentially useful method in generating more website traffic. Then and only then might you be allowed to include your link in your signature.

You give something, you get something back. NOT you take something (the forum owner’s time) and expect something back (you won’t get anything).

In the ‘real world’ we all know (or should know) that you have to give to get something back, so why do so many people think the web is different? It’s still part of the human universe, so the same rules still apply. Think about it.
